One of the artists who stood out to me the most was Rebecca Rebouche. She says something very interesting when she is asked what kind of advice she has for any artist starting out. She said that building an art career is like building a ship. Building it is the hard part because that is where the isolation and loneliness kicks in. But once it is finished and you set sail people will notice how amazing it looks and they’re be buying tickets left and right. And the better it is built the longer it will last before you’ll have to make any repairs.
That is a great way to approach your art career. It may start out tough but it’ll definitely pay off at the end. It’s also like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.
