Based on what my past was like this is definitely a book I can relate to. There is at least one thing in each artist’s life that I connect with. One interesting aspect of the book is that when an artist looks at the work of another artist whom s/he likes, chances are that both artists have lived similar lives, because there is a connection that the artist feels when looking at a work that s/he admires.
We all know that being an artist is a very tough life, but if you read the book you’ll come to realize that you’re not alone and art can be worth pursuing. It’s one of those books where you’re reading autobiographies of successful people who have been through a lot but look at them now.
