There was another time when I put together this career plan I was eager to pursue. Then I met up with this career counselor, which turned out to be one big waste of time. My plan was to get to grad school for art administration. I saw this person because I was lost and wanted to get some help on proceeding further. Basically I was at step 1 (Which was knowing that I wanted to go to grad school for art administration) and seeking help on figuring out what step 2 was (Or trying to get to step 2.) well it turned out that the whole 1 hour meeting was nothing but that retard grilling me with reasons on why she didn’t think it was a good idea for me to get a masters in art administration. I come to her to share a plan that I wanted to pursue and she grilled me with reasons on why she thought I shouldn’t pursue that plan. I’m on step 1 trying to get to step 2 and it felt like she led me back to step 0. If I can go back and tell myself what I know now from that situation it would have been to not listen to her and stay on track. But it all worked out; afterwards new opportunities came up which gave me reason to believe that God had different plans for me.
If you’re getting discouraged from doing something that you’re passionate about that is usually a sign that you should just go ahead and do it. And even if they are right, that way you can see for yourself, at least that way you tried and you’ll know not waste any more time. Or better yet, you’ll choose not to listen to them and keep at it and prove them wrong.
